connect:desk – the administration and analysis software

Administration of forklift trucks and drivers across the organisational structure by site, department, and work group or by truck class, administration of forklift trucks and drivers, assignment planning for the fleet, monitoring and analysis of forklift truck data, or even maintenance planning – connect:desk takes care of all aspects of fleet management.
The software is scalable and the user interface is intuitive. connect:desk is suitable therefore for small and large fleets of forklift trucks, as well as for experienced fleet managers and occasional users who only require individual functions.

Which requirements determine your infrastructure? Choose the perfect transmission technology for your needs. You do not have to worry about other processes! All three transmission methods automatically run in the background without the driver or fleet manager actively having to play a part. Incidentally, all three options can be combined and used in one fleet.

Syncpoints … are industrial computers or PCs with a Linde Bluetooth stick that collect data from vehicles via Bluetooth. The connect:composer software controls communication, processes the data and delivers it to the database so that it is available in connect:desk. connect_composer_550x160

When the vehicle comes within range of a Syncpoint, data is automatically accessed and transmitted via Bluetooth.

The benefits

  • No interference in Wi-Fi network
  • Cost-effective: As a rule, already factory installed. A few Syncpoints on your company grounds are already sufficient for data transmission.
  • Data security: Data does not leave the company. The user therefore has complete control.

Vehicle components

  • Retrofit kit: The Bluetooth retrofit kit is available for older vehicles that do not have Bluetooth. It can be ordered from the central spare parts warehouse in Kahl.

On-site infrastructure

  • Syncpoints are installed at favourable locations in the plant where trucks always pass (e.g. at charging stations, traffic hubs or parking spaces).

Data is transferred directly from the vehicle to the database within the wireless network.

The benefits

  • Data security: Data does not leave the company. The user therefore has complete control.
  • No new infrastructure required: connect: uses the existing Wi-Fi network within the company.
  • Current data: Blanket coverage enables regular data transfers and ensures up-to-date data is available in connect:desk.
  • Authentication algorithms and IT standards: Authentication with WPA2 (using a password) or WPA2-Enterprise (certificates) meets the latest standards and is secure.

Vehicle components

  • The vehicle has to be equipped with a Wi-Fi box, which is available as a retrofit kit.

On-site infrastructure

  • Experts from connect: carry out the one-time setup procedure on site.
  • Cooperation with the company’s IT department is necessary to implement Wi-Fi transmission.

Data is transmitted to the database over the mobile broadband network.

The benefits

  • No infrastructure required: Unlike Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, no hardware is needed to transfer data on the company grounds.
  • Indoor and outdoor coverage: Vehicles can transmit data indoors and outdoors. The strength of the connection depends on the network of the mobile broadband operator.
  • Fast and simple installation: The data unit can be retrofitted to older vehicles in a few simple steps.

Vehicle components

  • Almost all new vehicles can be ordered with an online box fitted in the factory.
  • Retrofit kits are available for many older vehicle models; they can be fitted in a few simple steps.

On-site infrastructure

  • No additional infrastructure, such as Syncpoints or Wi-Fi hotspots, is required for data transmission.

Reports and Analysis

Transparency with connect:desk

Manage your fleet as efficiently as possible – on the basis of comprehensive data. The connect:desk software gives you access to over 15 different interactive reports on the entire fleet, individual sections, trucks or drivers. The data is represented in easy-to-understand diagrams and tables. You will always know exactly who used which truck when and how.

The most important reports at a glance:

Occupancy journal

This is where you can find out who used which truck when. The login and logout times of the drivers of each truck are recorded. You can always determine who was responsible for specific actions or accidents.  


The shock data enables you to find out when a driver has given a vehicle a jolt – e.g. caused by a collision or a pothole. This increases drivers’ sense of responsibility.  

Truck usage

Here you will find detailed information about how a vehicle is used: How long is a driver logged in? How high is the proportion of journeys and lifts during that time?  

Maintenance report

You receive an overview of all upcoming maintenance and service appointments for the vehicles in your fleet. This facilitates scheduling. In addition, it enables you to combine maintenance appointments to reduce costs.  


This report helps you to optimize your vehicle fleet. It enables you to see how long vehicles are being used or even if they are not being used at all. Evaluation is possible for the whole fleet or individual vehicles.  

Truck distribution

This analysis allows you to immediately see the composition of your fleet – broken down on the basis of manufacturer and vehicle model as well as other criteria.

The driver as well as the fleet manager can see the battery charging state information. If the charging state of a vehicle is unusual or even critical, a message appears on the software dashboard.

Operating hours forecast

Expected fleet operating hours are calculated on the basis of real vehicle usage data. You can determine whether the system should predict the number of operating hours up to a specific time or the time at which a specific number of operating hours is reached.


This diagram shows whether vehicles are being used, have been parked or are being serviced or repaired. The bars indicate how much potential operational capacity individual vehicles and the entire fleet still have.

Unusual logouts

Unusual logouts This report shows which drivers do not log out correctly. As a result, you can prevent improper use or even theft.

Speed limit optimization

This report helps you to optimize the performance of your vehicles with regard to journey time and distance. For example, it enables you to find out where safety can be increased without any major impact on efficiency.

Driver licenses

Here you can discover which driving permits will expire and need to be renewed within a given period of time.
